Guangzhou Baijianghu Forest Park was approved for establishment in 2000, with an area of 24,700 mu. The park construction is guided by protective development. It is a comprehensive multifunctional suburban forest park that integrates environmental protection, balanced ecology, sightseeing, vacation entertainment, popular science education and other functions, with natural ecological landscape as the main body and combined with artificial landscape.

The park is located in the eastern part of Guangzhou City. It has a southern subtropical monsoon climate in low-latitude areas, with mild climate and abundant rainfall all year round. The air negative ion content of scenic spots in the park is above 1000/cm3, and some scenic spots can reach 10,000/cm3. The air quality is Class A, which is suitable for leisure tourism and forest health care activities. The park is rich in groundwater resources. The main stream belongs to the Dongjiang River system. It is clear and can be seen from the bottom. It meanders from north to south through the park and flows into Zengjiang. Due to the low and steep mountains, deep valleys, winding rivers, and many canyons, waterscapes and stone landscapes of various shapes are often formed.

"Shenshan's secluded valleys and beautiful streams, and Baijiang Lake and mountain flowers in full bloom" - after years of construction, the park has focused on creating three core scenic spots: Shuiweng, Baijiang Lake, and Conghua Valley, with a 4.0-kilometer stream-tracing trail, a 3.5-kilometer mountaintop greenway, and a 14-kilometer driveway connecting the three scenic spots.
