After we depart the city, we’ll head straight for the eastern end of the Great Ocean Road to begin our journey along this spectacular coastal drive. Visit the Split Point Lighthouse, it is famous for its role in the TV series ‘Round the Twist’ and you might spot a pod of dolphins or whales from the top balcony. Take the opportunity to capture a moment under the historic Memorial Archway marking the beginning of the Great Ocean Road before passing through the quaint seaside resort towns of Lorne and Wye River. At the township of Kennett River, we make a brief detour into the sweetly scented eucalyptus forest to locate some of the local koalas in their native habitat. We also have an opportunity to see colourful local birdlife, including crimson rosellas and king parrots. Stopping in the seaside township of Apollo Bay, with time to grab a bite to eat. Passing through Great Otway National Park. Count how many koalas you can spot and enjoy spending time with some of Australia’s native parrots, lorikeets and even kookaburras. Once out of the trees and back by the Southern Ocean, we arrive at Port Campbell National Park, home to the iconic 12 Apostles.
