Kiyomizu-dera Temple was founded in 778 and is famous for its marriages. It is the oldest temple in Kyoto. Because of the "Kwannon of Kiyomizu", people have been coming to visit it in an endless stream since the Heian period.
The main hall (national treasure) is a stage-style architectural structure that stretches forward and stands on the cliff with the cherry blossoms and greenery in spring, the red leaves in autumn, and the beautiful scenery of the four seasons as the background. There are 15 important cultural properties in the courtyard, including the inner courtyard, Amida Hall, and the three-story pagoda.
