Introduction to Wei Ming Tang
Weiming Hall is a Zhengxin Taoist monastery located in Zhonghe, founded by Master Lu Weiming.
The patron saint of gays in the side hall is Uncle Hu Tianbao, the rabbit god, and Mr. Sanshan Jiuhou, the chief god of the main hall.
*The Legend of Rabbit God
Why did Hu Tianbao become the Rabbit God?
This story was first recorded in Yuan Mei's "Zi Buyu" in the Qing Dynasty.
It is said that in the early years of the Qing Dynasty, Hu Tianbao was very much in love with the beauty of the young censor, so every time he went to court, Hu Tianbao would always hide aside to admire him secretly.
Once when the censor went to inspect other areas, Hu Tianbao couldn't help but secretly peeked at him in the toilet. So the censor summoned Hu Tianbao for interrogation, and found out that Hu Tianbao had been spying on him because he liked the censor's beauty. The censor became furious and beat him to death.
One month after Hu Tianbao's death, he entrusted a dream to his neighbors, saying that the underworld official had made him the Rabbit God, who specialized in managing matters of same-sex pleasure in the world. Later, neighbors rushed to donate money to build a temple to pray, and the story of the Rabbit God’s experience was passed down.
