"Night Festival at the Tokyo National Museum" will be held at Japan's oldest museum, Tokyo National Museum, located in Ueno, Tokyo. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to explore both the "Comprehensive Cultural Exhibition" and the special Exhibition “Jingoji: The Dawn of Shingon Buddhism” after the usual closing time, from 18:00. The event will feature a variety of traditional Japanese festival experiences within the specially illuminated museum grounds. Festival stalls will offer treats such as shaved ice, wata ame(cotton candy) and shooting games. Demise shops will be available where you can craft Edo Furin(wind bell) and Naruko, paint Daruma dolls, and experience Japanese traditional paintings. You can also experience calligraphy and design with traditional patterns at workshops. On a special stage, you can enjoy performances of traditional regional dancing and taiko(drums). Food and drinks from kitchen cars will also be available within the grounds. Enter through the Important Cultural Property "Kuro-mon" (Black Gate) and enjoy a special summer night in Japan.
