Koishikawa Korakuen Gardens will open at night for the first time in the New Year, and special events will be held in conjunction with “TDC SHOW Illumination” scheduled to be held at the adjacent Tokyo Dome City. At Koishikawa Korakuen Gardens, the nighttime opening event, “Koishikawa Korakuen Gardens ~inviting good fortune with lights and laughter~” will be held to bring luck to visitors with grand views of illuminated gardens.
Koishikawa Korakuen Gardens is the oldest surviving Edo daimyo garden and was completed by Mitsukuni Tokugawa, also known as ’Mito Komon,’ the second lord of the Mito domain. This place was once a popular social gathering place for feudal lords, and various banquets were often held.
The gardens’ first night opening will feature the theme of “laughter”, welcoming you to a joyous winter night.
